When
Grant applications for organization programs open February 1st, and will close when all allocated funds have been awarded. The first awards will be provided by April 1st.
For individual projects, there is a Spring and Fall grant cycle.
Spring applications open April 1st, and close May 1st. Spring cycle awards will be provided by June 1st.
Fall Incubator grants open September 1st, and close October 1st. Awards will be provided by November 1st.
Who
The cycle for organizations is designed for established non-profits implementing programs aligned with DeChambeau Creek Foundation’s mission and goals.
The Incubator cycle is for anyone with a dream project, or specific item need. The idea will need to be evaluated to ensure it meets the Foundation’s goals and the mission.
What
The Community Investment Programs seek to fund projects with goals that inspire respectful coexistence with nature, place and one another through meaningful connection, new perspectives, deeper skills and greater understanding.
Successful proposals will not only meet the program goal described above, but fulfill at least one of the Foundation’s six program outcomes. Check out our past projects to see what has been accomplished in the last few years.
Where
Proposed investments must happen within the hydrogolic Mono Basin - the land draining into Mono Lake, including Lee Vining, June Lake, and Mono City’s communities. Projects on partnership (County & Public) lands may also be funded with appropriate agreements.
How
First, take time to review the mission, goals, and past projects to make sure your proposal is eligible. If you are uncertain whether your idea works, you may also send an email to contact and schedule a meeting.
Second, if your project’s goals align with the Foundations’, complete. the application form by the scheduled due date. Again, DeChambeau Creek Foundation staff is available to work with you through this process. There will also be a grant workshop scheduled in the above calendar to give any assistance.
Third, your application will be reviewed by the Foundation grant committee using the established scoring rubric and checklist. If your project is successfully chosen for investment in the funding cycle, a grant agreement will be provided, and we will work with you to make the project happen.
If your project is not chosen, we may invite you back to apply during another round of funding or suggest other ways you could pursue or refine your project.
Why
By working together and sharing resources, we build meaningful connections with our place and one another- creating a thriving and resilient community.
Organizations with an established infrastructure offer a scaled expansion for programming with staffing capacity.
Incubator grants help supply materials for projects with fiduciary agency through DeChambeau Creek Foundation.
